What shape is your roof?

Gutters hang on the flat lower edges of a roof, not on the slanted ends. From above we can measure your roof’s outline accurately, but we cannot tell which edges are which — so we need one thing from you. On a typical home here the answer is the difference between about 135 ft and about 240 ft of gutter.

Gable A ridge down the middle with a flat triangular wall at each end. Gutter on two sides. Hip Slopes down on all four sides, no flat triangular walls. Gutter all the way around. Cross-gable Two or more roof sections meeting at right angles — an L, a T, or a wing off the main house. Not sure A perfectly good answer.
